HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

OneFryShort.Org is five years old today!

Seems like just yesterday we were trying to come up with a domain name that we liked that was available. Then we had to dive into the unknown world of domain registrars and hosting providers. Back in those days the site was just a couple of pages that was maintained with Microsoft Frontpage.

How things have changed in the past five years! Thank you to all who have visited this site in the past five years and we look forward to being online and with you for many more years to come.

New Links Interface

The Links interface is in the process of changing. We are transitioning from the e107 Links plug-in to a custom del.icio.us interface. All the existing links are being transferred to the del.icio.us database. Until all the links are transferred, all the existing links are located in the Old Links menu.

Outage Update

Things have been getting better every day. There are still some slow times while they move data off of the server, but overall things are back to a reasonable speed. Here is the latest update from DreamHost:

Update, April 10, 2008

Well the snapshot mentioned yesterday is gone and we’re actually at 83% used today which is below where we were hoping to see marked improvement (85%). Of course we’re still moving data off (which increases the usage on the file server) so that won’t fully translate to customer usage improvement but it should be quite a bit better and keep improving until we stop moving data.
